The Students' Representative Council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa has disqualified Ogunsola Oluwafemi Oladimeji, a presidential aspirant from the Civil Engineering department in the upcoming Students' Union Election.
The legislative arm took this decision at their sitting on Wednesday January 19th 2022. According to the Speaker of the house, he says in accordance with the constitutional requirement of Section 9, sub section 21 (e) that stipulates "a once suspended or dismissed Student or a removed officer of the union shall not be eligible for any union election."
Decision of the house was made known in a letter to the Faculty of Engineering President copying other stakeholders in the institution with a notice to produce another candidate for the continuation of the electioneering process with immediate effect.
"The faculty is therefore required to tender the name of another candidate who has been screened by the management already to replace the disqualified candidate and prepare to continue the electioneering process as required by the candidates of the institution."
The letter further reads "The faculty is also advised to urge the disqualified candidate to refrain from any form of action or reaction that will disrupt the election process or peace of the institution."
Earlier in 2017, he had been expelled by the Students' Disciplinary Committee on the account of his involvement in an indiscipline and gross misconduct during the protest of 6th June 2017.
According to an internal memorandum released on October 4th 2019 which states letter of reinstatement. Ogunshola Oluwafemi was granted amnesty which he had requested and his expulsion was commuted to one year suspension.
Prior to his dismissal, Ogunshola Oluwafemi and Abdulraheem Abdulkadir were the two presidential candidates for the Students' Union Government Election in Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa.
