AOPE SUG stage peaceful protest against Platinum Consultant as Academic Activities Continue


The Students’ Union Government of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa under the Leadership of President, Comrade Ashaolu Victor Samuel held a peaceful protest against Platinum Consultant’s gross negligence and remita charges at the school gate today Monday March 1st, 2021. The protest happened to be unanimous decision of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee Oyo State Chapter as all Oyo State Owned Institutions took part in the protest from their various campus.

Information gathered reveal that NANS JCC have been holding a lot of meetings with the Government on the gross negligence of Platinum which have been proven abortive, however the most concerned to the Students of AOP Eruwa is Remita Charges of 500naira on any payment. According to the press release by the SUG yesterday February 28, 2021, the content of the Press Release has it that “Greatest Polytes, We want you to remember no matter any amount you are paying on the portal, you will be charged 500ngn remita charges no matter the number of time you are making payment.”



The Protest started at 6:30am which stopped all academic activities including Examination which ought to have started today. Comrade Ashaolu addressed the students towards the end of the peaceful protest and thanked them for the support and maintaining peace on the Protest. He said, “Greatest Nigerian Students, I love you all for joining this agitation, I want us to know this protest is not against the school management. We are just lending our voice to the state government on any form of extortion called 500naira Remita Charges which is unusual on any registration on the portal.”

In the SUG President conclusion, He urged them to go back home and read to prepare for their examination as the State Government have called all Union Leaders for a meeting on Wednesday March 3rd, 2021. After the protest, the SUG Members held a meeting with School Management at the Office of the Acting Rector Peter Adejumo on continuation of Academic Activities in the institution.
