Musa breaks 2 Decades Barrier, becomes first SUG President elect from Mass Comm

Musa Aanuoluwapo has broken the jinx for Mass Communication Department after becoming the first Student from the Department to win SUG Presidential Post after 21 years at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa since the establishment of the campus. Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic gained its autonomy under Th Polytechnic, Ibadan in year 2014. While the institution was under Poly Ibadan, Mass Communication always found it difficult to clinch the SUG Presidential Post. The last SUG Election held before the Autunomy had Osele George of Mass Communication losing to Afolabi Ibukun of Purchasing Supply in year 2014. After the autonomy, Owolabi from Mass Communication contested in year 2016 but the School Management cancelled the Student Union Election and the regime made use of Caretaker Committee for 2017, however Musa Aanuoluwapo was doing his National Diploma and contested for the post of Public Relations II.

After the reinstatement of the Student Union Body by the school management, Mass Comm student named Toyoboh Isaac took another bold step and contested against Akande Jesutomi from Business Administration and lost as usual in year 2018. Fear of frequent loss killed the morale of Mass Communication in 2019 as Ashaolu Victor Samuel won the President post against Adekambi John of Business Administration, winning the election also made Ashaolu became First SUG President from Faculty of Science in the institution.

Today February 26, 2021 Election is a glorious day for Mass Communication Department: Not only Mass Communication Student winning the SUG President, but also other executive posts like General Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Treasurer, Welfare Director, Sport Director and Social Director are won by Mass Communication making the Department to ever had Seven Posts in the SUG Executives. The election which held today at online also happens to be first online voting plan which the school would have held.
