Senator Kola Balogun of Oyo South Senatorial district has promised the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic students of Tetfund intervention to build two 500 seater capacity lecture theatre in the school.
He made this known while delivering his keynote speech at the First Annual General Meeting organized by the Alumni Association of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa held on Saturday December 11th 2021 inside the campus.
In his words, "I don't know which would come first whether Tetfund intervention but I will use my budgetary provision to also do something else for the institution in the coming year."
He emphasize the need for quality education and stated that the future belongs to the youths.
"I make bold to say that investments in human capital development require that affordable, accessible and qualitative education be made available from the kindergarten to the primary and also to the tertiary levels of our education system. An education system that is discriminative in principle and practice can never take any society to the promised land."
Also present at the event was Madam Tina Ogundoyin, the mother to the present speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and wife to the late Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin whom the institution was named after.
She promised her continuous support for the institution even after the demise of her husband decades ago.
The Acting Chairman of the Alumni Association Prince Jamiu Jelil highlighted the achievements of the association while giving his welcome speech and how efforts are being made to bring all old students before and after the autonomy of the institution together as one fold.
"Our agenda is clear and simple, to bring all old students during the campus days and when it got its autonomy in other to bring developmental projects to the institution."
Receiving the kind gesture of the Alumni Association and the guests was the Acting Registrar of the institution Mr Oladipo Dele on behalf of the Acting Rector Mr Gbade Akinteye.
Earlier, there was a digital marketing training by one of the alumni David Akeju where students were taken through some practical steps of creating online visibility for their products, goods and services.
The event featured presentation of awards by the Alumni Association to Sen. Kola Balogun and Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin for their exemplary leadership and constant support towards the development of the institution.
